Collaborative Consultation to Children's Classrooms (CC2CC) Certification Institute

2019 CC2CC Certification Institute

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Date: September 16 - September 18, 2019
Cost: $750 per participant
(Discounted price of $600 with attendance at 2019 RBI Institute or Routines-Based Home Visiting Institute)

The CC2CC Certification Institute is designed to train trainers in itinerant early intervention/early childhood special education (EI/ECSE) for children in classroom-based programs. In addition to educators, participants can include occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, or others supporting children in classrooms. The CC2CC Certification Institute focuses on integrated therapy and collaborative consultation with classroom professionals. Participants will receive workshops and will practice CC2CC in role plays and in actual community classrooms. Professionals attending the CC2CC Certification Institute will be people from around the world who (a) have an opportunity to train others in itinerant services and (b) have an opportunity to demonstrate these practices in real classrooms.

Applications for the 2019 CC2CC Certification Institute

Timelines:
  • Applications due June 15, 2019.
  • Applicant selection and notification by July 1, 2019. Alternates will be selected in case any selected applicants are unable to attend.
  • $200 nonrefundable deposit due by August 1, 2019 (selected applicants only).
  • Full payment due on the first day of the institute (September 16, 2019).

Course Delivery

Candidates accepted to the training course will have advance readings. They will spend three days in the institute's location going on classroom visits and attending workshops. They will practice where they work, finally submitting videos of their classroom visits.

Cost

The training costs $750 per participant (checks made payable to The University of Alabama). Participants are responsible for paying for travel to the institute, hotel lodging, and dinners. Lunches are included in the registration fee.

Cost includes:
  • Expert instruction in a small group (only 18 participants admitted to the CC2CC Certification Institute;
  • Opportunities to practice in real classrooms;
  • Individualized feedback;
  • Lunch;
  • Materials for your use when training others;
  • Post-Institute review of taped classroom visit;
  • Assessment;
  • Certification;
  • CEUs for education ONLY (any/all other CEUs needed, selected participant(s) MUST obtain on their own.)

Certification

Certification as a trainer in CC2CC will be awarded on the basis of
  1. Participating in the CC2CC Certification Institute,
  2. Passing a test, and
  3. Practicing in a classroom and submitting a video, matrix, and Next Steps Form (coaches will grade these materials using the Collaborative Consultation Checklist).
Successful participants will be certified as international CC2CC trainers for three years.
